Privacy Policy

Who we are

Kickworth (kickworth.fun) is a free football market value game. This policy explains what personal data we handle when you play. You can contact us at hello@kickworth.fun.

What we collect

  • Account data: if you register, your email address, display name and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your verified email, name and Google account identifier — never your Google password.
  • Guest data: if you play as a guest we create a temporary account with no personal details, only a session token and your game progress.
  • Game data: matches, answers, Elo rating, badges, collection and daily-challenge results, so the game and the leaderboard work.
  • Technical data: your IP address and basic request information, processed by our server and hosting provider to deliver the service and keep it secure.
  • Analytics data (only if you accept cookies): pages visited, in-game events, device and browser type, approximate location and, with Microsoft Clarity, anonymised session recordings and heatmaps.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

  • To provide the game, your account, matchmaking and the leaderboard — performance of our agreement with you.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse — our legitimate interest.
  • To understand and improve the game through analytics — your consent, which you can give or withdraw at any time.

Cookies and similar technologies

We store a sign-in token and a few preferences (language, your cookie choice, recent invite code) in your browser. These are strictly necessary and do not need consent.

Analytics cookies from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are loaded only after you press Accept. If you reject or ignore the banner, they are never loaded. You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page.

If we later show advertising, we will ask for your consent through the same banner before any advertising cookie is set.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We rely on these providers to run the service:

  • Amazon Web Services (Ireland, EU) — hosting and encrypted backups.
  • Google — Google Sign-In (if you choose it) and Google Analytics (with consent).
  • Microsoft — Clarity analytics (with consent).

International transfers

Our servers are in the European Union. Google and Microsoft may process analytics data outside the EU under the safeguards they publish (such as standard contractual clauses).

How long we keep it

Account and game data are kept while your account exists. Guest accounts that never played may be removed. Backups are deleted automatically after 30 days. Analytics data follows the retention settings of each provider.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to hello@kickworth.fun and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD).

Children

Kickworth is not directed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party data

Player names, clubs and market values come from public Transfermarkt data. Kickworth is an independent project and is not affiliated with Transfermarkt, any club, league or player.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a material way we will update the date above and, where required, ask for your consent again.
